the best bands are the ones that are really only imaginary ones. no fighting, no touring, no lugging equipment around, no being ignored, no bad reviews. just pure invincibility which cannot be shaken. not to mention a very hard to find back catalog of recordings which, having never existed, will lend a sense of mystery to them. hey man, i like your band. groovy! very true! in my head my band's bigger than The Beatles! plus there's the added advantage of in my head there's no Yoko Onos, always a bonus!

jane dodd is a righteously superior friend and i love her. she's making jewelry, and a name for herself to boot. she wrote recently to let me know that peter and graeme from the able tasmans either recorded again or are recording again or something like that. i didn't quite understand. but it's exciting nevertheless.
she taught me how to play 'knucklebones' in nz. terry moore, martin p., victor grbic, lesley from look blue go purple and her boyfriend at the time paul mckessar, some other people and myself. it's sort of like jacks but more alcoholic.
i'd be pleased to lend you titles or whatever. let me know. we'll work out a reasonable rate: how about free?

you have to learn to love your inner yoko. yoko rules. yoko forever. at any rate, she's cooler than paul mccartney; he looks more and more like angela lansbury everyday. why did they let george die! paul was so much more die-able.
anyway, congratulations on your recent imaginary tour. we hear great things.

[glow=red,2,300]TEXT[/glow] it's the name of a movie that tells the overwrought tale of a young woman's battle with hippie culture and runaway living. not to mention all types of drugs. she comes home -- can't handle the pressure. her goodytwoshoes sister starts getting hooked on speed and ends up dying i think. then the main character's hippie ex-boyfriend (played by none-other than david carradine of kung fu and more recently kill bill fame) and tries to lead herback to a psychedelic way of life. she of course opts for normalcy. and a respectable haircut to boot. and the star of this movie was........... .......................keep going......... sally field....................who as you know was the star of the flying nun! and there you have it!

Yeah, I found photos of some of her collections online. I wasn't sure it was the same person until Mike Stoodley confirmed it. Speaking of which, I'm planning on putting up some member profiles on the site - you know, updates and so on. Think Jane would be interested? My kinda deal! Count me in. P.S. You rock.

Paul McCartney/Angela Lansbury - Murder She Wrote... 2 Dead Beatles - I see a conspiracy! all these years, the rumours that it was Paul that was dead was just covering up his murdering tendancies! I've cracked it! it was a long and winding road, but by jude we got there!

You know, rumour has it that the real Paul has been dead since 1966. Link: xoomer.virgilio.it/james_paul_mccartney/Heh. I can't speak for NewKindOfHero but thankfully I have no inner Yoko. (And if I had one I'd have it surgically removed.

it's the name of a movie... HAHAHAHA! I swear, I'd never have gotten that one. I was at the Flying Nun site, scanning the history page with the aid of 'Ctrl-F' and finding no joy. Pure genius, Steve. I bow down to you.

yoko bashing is harmful to children and other living things. be kind to your inner yoko; she only wants to be loved. is that too much to ask? long live yoko!

Heh. I read a quote somewhere that sums up most people's opinion on Yoko: "If Mark David Chapman had aimed a little to the left, he'd be considered a hero." I'm just sayin'...

Oh yeah, the topic! Another band name I've always loved is the Gin Blossoms. It's such a pretty name it hardly even matters that it actually refers to something less than appealing. I'd name my firstborn daughter Virginia Blossom just so I could call her Gin Blossom. (And I'd even foot the therapy bills from my own gin fund. ;D)

(or still rock if they're still together after the tour last year...)

virginia blossom is a nice name. every time i think of the name the gin blossoms i think of w.c.fields. and that alone is enough to prevent me from thinking about that band.
the young marble giants was a great name. i always liked the name the psychedelic furs, as well as captain howdy, the gun club, the velvet underground, the dream syndicate, suddenly tammy and the turquoise swimming pools. all good names, as far as yoko and i are concerned.
