Track listing: Gloom Junky, Overdrawn, Tremble, Such As I, Hurricane, War In My Head, Inside Out, See You Tomorrow, Hole In the Ground, Ready to Fly, Moonlight On Snow, Hold On
I think it's safe to say that without Napster and Audiogalaxy this page wouldn't exist. I was introduced to five tracks on this album - Gloom Junky, Overdrawn, War in My Head, Inside Out and Hole in the Ground - via filesharing and they helped spark my rabid desire to own every Verlaines album. They're still my favorite tracks on this release, with 'Hole in the Ground' probably leading the parade. That last line, "I don't even desire to know your name" gets me every time.
Some fans prefer the oft-circulated, unpolished demo to the final product. I have my own preferences from each version but that probably has more to do with which I heard first.
Overall I haven't played this album as much as my top three (Way Out Where, Over the Moon, Bird-Dog), but that will probably change soon: looking over the lyrics while writing this blurb made me realize how much I love and miss it. It's on the stereo now. Beautiful sound. I'll rate it when it's done.
ETA: I give it a 9, but I'm slipping in my preferred versions from the demo.

This album is a bit dodgy, but it has some of my fave Verlaines songs ever. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: I wanna hear Liza Minelli perform the title track ('cos her mom isn't with us any longer). I'd love to hear those demo versions...
