Track listing: Death and the Maiden, Doomsday, Joed Out, Baud to Tears, Crisis After Crisis, Burlesque, You Cheat Yourself of Everything That Moves, Pyromaniac, Wind Song, Angela, You Say You, New Kind of Hero, Instrumental (live), Phil Too? (live), CD Jimmy Jazz and Me
With a nod to THR member NewKindofHero, that song is easily my fave on the album, with 'Pyromaniac'' coming in a close second. How they manage to beat out 'Joed Out' and 'Death and the Maiden' is anybody's guess. I love 'em all. 'Crisis After Crisis' makes me weepy because I always visualize it. I really got to like 'Baud to Tears' from watching a live video (love the backing vocals). 'Burlesque' was one of the last ones I fell in love with because I'd always lose the ryhthm when I tried to remember it on my own.
Favorite lyric on the entire album:
C.D. Jimmy Jazz and me f**ked off to Paris to write of the sea. Too much beauty in one foul sweep And the brilliant sun made me blind on the beach. So I made it back to confusion row, Where encased in four walls my mind could cope. We live in hope.
Score: 9/10

I first listened to Juvenilia back in the eighties. A friend of mine was a huge FN-fan an he had all the records. He always played this one and at first I didn't like it all. But then I was caught, all those strange songs like Windsong and You say You that came from another time and place. Couldn't find the record though, only had it on tape. In the early nineties I found the cd-version (different sleeve), but I always wanted to find the original record. Visited lots of record fairs, never did find it. Until 2 december this year when I went to a big record fair in Utrecht (Holland). It was near closing time and I walked to a German record stand. Just browsed and lo and behold! Juvenilia! I couldn't believe my eyes! And also Birddog, in mint condition!
