B! long time no see, how are you doing? I've been pretty busy lately, don't get much time for the internet, but thought I'd come on today and spread the word about the new Manics album 'Send Away The Tigers'! it's pretty damn good again and I saw them live in Cardiff at the university Student Union, every time I see them live they get better and better! it's truly unbelievable... at one stage I was about 5 or 6 yards from Nicky, the crowd were pretty crazy and getting into it, which makes it all the better and the venue is pretty small for a band the size of the Manics, 3000 capacity, completely sold out, 3000 Manic nutters going wild! a great experience ... and the new songs for the most part fit neatly in with the old ones, and add something to the mix. 'Rendition' is excellent and really comes into its own in the live arena, fantastic! some of the songs on the album aren't too great, Indian Summer and The Second Great Depression are the weak links, I think, but overall it's another in a line of good Manics albums, typical of the Manics post-Richey, soaring Melodies and I think it's Nicky's best set of lyrics since Richey disappeared, overall, excellent! ;D

Hiya K. I've been out of commission for a while so I haven't been online much either. I don't even remember the last time I logged onto MSN. (By the way - tell Jo Jo I said 'hi' and give little B a kiss from me!) I had no idea the Manics were even recording another album! That's awesome! You're so lucky to live in MSP country. *points to self* JEALOUS! I'll have to check Amazon UK after this and see if I can find a copy. And here I was thinking I owned all the Manics albums. *sigh* I will, soon enough. ;D

some of the manics gigs have been good on this tour, the one I went to was great! apparently last night's in London's Shepherd's Bush Empire was even better, they got 'Stay Beautiful' the lucky buggers!
the only thing I was disappointed with was not getting one of the songs from the new album called 'Imperial Bodybags' - it's great! got a bit of an 80's rock feel, I can feel a bit of Billy Idol there, I'd say (but what do I know?!) - this new Manics album isn't afraid to show off the Manics influences, there's a lot of GNR to be found in there.
I've just played it now, and I still love 'Rendition' - it's fast becoming a Top 5 Favourite and making a claim for the number 1 spot! love, love, love it!
