David Kilgour: "Frozen Orange"
For some reason this album sounds best to me in the afternoon, around 2 PM. Same goes for Nick Drake records.

Television Personalities are great! I heard something about the new recordings being fan-funded...I'm dead curious about how they'll turn out. Today's drive home from the beach would have been tedious at best had I not brought Screaming Trees' "Sweet Oblivion" and "Uncle Anesthesia" along for the ride...two early '90s faves. Flyin' the Flannel!

The Dresden Dolls are definitely different. "Brechtian punk cabaret" they call it. Cool stuff but it took me a while to get used to it. In her site journal Amanda (vocals) mentions going to her 10th high school reunion in Berlin -- dresdendolls.com/diary/ -- so I guess there's a true German connection there.

i nearly went to a Tad gig in the early 90´s, with Nirvana as their support..i had listen to 1 or 2 songs on the radio and i quite liked it. But in the end i didnt go. Dont know why anymore.... But i never was much into that grunge stuff..maybe i was too old NOW, i´m listening to Les Rita Mitsouko from France. 2 great songs...the rest...not soooo good

But i never was much into that grunge stuff..maybe i was too old I was the right age for grunge but I didn't like it much either. I loved Pearl Jam but I never saw them as grunge so I don't think that counts. Current listening habits -- none. Oh, the horror... I think I've exhausted everything I own.

Current listening habits -- none. Oh, the horror... I think I've exhausted everything I own. [/quote] you´re not alone with this! Sometimes, so many albums come to my mind, which i love to listen to again. 1 or 2 days later, i´m standing in front of my cds/lps/tapes..and my head is completely empty... Right now, i´m listening to my tinnitus

Right now, i´m listening to my tinnitus Haha! Me too! Mine started up in a wicked way a couple days ago, probably triggered by a negative food reaction. I suppose I'm "lucky" to have the rare objective form (I think only about 5% of all tinnitus cases are such); some days I can entirely forget about it, but other times if there's a trigger it's HELL. I'm actually in the mood for computer generated music. Is there a technical term for that? "Ambient", maybe? No idea, but I've been craving it lately. Some visuals would be nice too. Mmm... fractals. Most of the bandwagon grunge bands were total rubbish but I liked a few of the original Northwest groups, particularly Screaming Trees and Mudhoney. Back in the late '80s--before "Grunge" became an international cashcow--all those loud, longhaired Seattle bands were just popular club acts around these parts. I was never too fond of Nirvana and was pretty floored that they wound up kings of the scene. Shows what little I know...
Can a grunge revival be too far down the line? I wouldn't be surprised if vintage '90s flannel shirts were already going for big bucks in trendy Tokyo boutiques. Yikes!
